Rural Thursday #27: Flowers, Sad News, and Other Stuff

I don't know what these flowers are but I really like them! Does anyone know what they are?

When I was taking the picture I didn't even see that little ant!

I'm not sure why I never shared the news with you guys but, the 3 ducklings got eaten almost a month and a half ago. I let them go free range way too soon and they went in the woods  by the stream and a raccoon got them :(  R.I.P. Nicki (grey), R.I.P. Oreo (brown), and R.I.P. Goldilocks (blond).

Oh, and all of the chicks are roosters!

Your flower is Queen Anne's Lace. It is very pretty. So sorry to hear about the ducklings. It's a tough life for little birds. They are so fragile.

Sorry about the ducklings. Your flower is Queen Anne's Lace. Interestingly, it is the plant that the carrot was derived from!

The flower is indeed, Queen Anne's Lace and I agree, so pretty with its delicate little flowers.
So sad about the little ducks, they were so precious.

They were very pretty ducks and I understand how it feels to lose them. The roosters are very handsome young guys! Can you keep all of them? 3 roosters is a lot :)

Sorry about the loss of your ducklings. You have three good-looking roosters.

Sorry about the ducklings. Did you want roosters? My sister lives in a urban area and got a rooster that she can't keep, and is so sad to have to give it away.

Just a small tip! Queen Anne's Lace, while gorgeous, is notorious for attracting chiggers. Best to look at it outside and wear sleeves in pants if you are going to be walking through a field of it! :-)
