C is for Cleo

It's time for the letter C!

Cleo will be a year old in just a couple weeks, she has layed one egg that I know of, but she probably has a hidden nest somewhere that I don't know about.

This is her mom, Buffalo.

And this is her dad, Dark Angel.
He got eaten by a predator last summer :(

Her first name was Rolo (yes after the chocolate), but after awhile I decided that the name didn't really fit her.

Cleo is a popular name this week! My neighbor just got a brand new German Shepard puppy, her name is Purple RazzleDazzle Cleopatra - Cleo for short! And, as beautiful as she is, so too is your Cleo. Those russet colored feathers are so striking! (And, it tickles me that she has a secret nest!) Thanks for sharing your beautiful flock!

Beautiful chickens! Sadly, I had a couple taken by predators last summer as well. Decided free-range wasn't working for us and gave the leftovers to my brother who has a large coop! Thanks for sharing...visiting from Mrs. Jenny's class!

I cannot believe it!!! I thought I was the only one naming my chicks. I have Wheels and Princess and Madame and Marmelade and the rooster Eugene. They are 5 years old and they offer me lots of lovely eggs. They will surely die of old age :)).
