So about a month ago, I heard something in the old falling apart toolshed.
I went in and saw a little hen sitting in a old big black tube like
she was trying to lay an egg.
Then I left her alone and went and did stuff around the farm and then a few
hours later I went back and she was gone, and there was no egg....
I was really disappointed because she was one of the hens that had just hatched in June so I would have loved it if she had layed her first egg.
Then today I was outside working on making a new outdoor pen for the chickens and my older sister runs up to me holding a container full of 10 green eggs...
And she said
"Look what I found in that old black tube in the toolshed!"
And I got all excited then she said:
"But they are all rotten."
Of course..
So at least I know she is laying eggs now!

She's been a busy little chicken anyway. Now you know!
Thank you for following Sandy! ;)
I sure do! Thanks for visiting Betty ;)
Well, what can be said, that's life!
She picked a really interesting spot to lay eggs in. I hope she moves her laying to a new location.
Too bad the eggs are rotten. Now you know to keep your eye out for her fresh-laid eggs.
Ahhh....too bad! At least you will be on guard now and I'm sure you will find the next ones!
I just found one of hers earlier!
Yes it is!
Well she is a really odd chicken...
Green eggs and ham?! ;)
Sneaky hen, but I see above you are finding some fresh eggs.
I sure am! We have already gotten 7 eggs today! AND I found another nest from all the way back in fall and a duck egg nest...
Thats for sure! Thanks for visiting!
Yuck! We had a rotten egg once, too. My lil' sis went out to check for eggs and as soon as she touched it, the egg exploded! And it smelled HORRIBLE! Thanks for linking up to A Country Saturday!
