SHS 3.31.12.

One of the many trees in the woods on the only non-rainy day this week.
1. Clouds.
On the way home from a soccer game the sun looked cool, it's not a sun flare but it is a sun.
2. Sun Flare.
This week I had a hard time figuring out what I was going to do do this prompt. I was going to do seven eggs but I had done something a bit like that before so I finally settled on this.
3. Seven.
Mumu is the perfect cat model. So it wasn't very hard to get a high angle picture.
4. High Angle.
OR a low angle.
5. Low Angle.

The trees are starting to turn very green. Finally my favorite time of the year is coming. And hopefully it will stop raining soon because it has been raining ALL week!

Friday Fences 3.30.12.

My dad and me are building an outdoor chicken pen for the younger chickens that we will soon start hatching.
I thought these twists of wire looked cool.
And of course I couldn't forget the picture of the post.

S is for Speckles and...

This is Speckles, he will be a year old in June, he is a really tame and nice rooster. He is a full Amerucana.
Isn't he handsome?

He makes really weird noises that I call, "Chicken German".
So whenever I am looking for him I just stop and listen, and then I can usually hear him talking.
Obviously this picture is from a few months ago because there is S-N-O-W in the picture, but I couldn't help sharing this Smiley face with you guys.

Billie's favorite toys are pipe cleaners, she loves them so much that you can find her curled up asleep with a few.
3. Toy.
A few of these eggs definitely have a texture up bumps.
4. Texture.
The chickens think that the ground is furniture, and it is... Chicken Furniture!

sitting there getting very dusty!

The only swing we have around here is the old tire swing in the woods.

Leaves and Randoms

These are Box elder leaves just starting to blossom.
I'm not sure what this is but I thought it looked cool with the water on it and the sun glinting off of it.
Ms. Penelope stopped by to say hello!
A naughty raccoon had been eating some corn!
A random leaf on the ground.
Old sunflower related kind of thing?
The lilac tree is starting to bloom!

R is for Rotten Eggs

So about a month ago, I heard something in the old falling apart toolshed.
I went in and saw a little hen sitting in a old big black tube like
she was trying to lay an egg.

Then I left her alone and went and did stuff around the farm and then a few
hours later I went back and she was gone, and there was no egg....
I was really disappointed because she was one of the hens that had just hatched in June so I would have loved it if she had layed her first egg.

Then today I was outside working on making a new outdoor pen for the chickens and my older sister runs up to me holding a container full of 10 green eggs...

And she said
"Look what I found in that old black tube in the toolshed!"
And I got all excited then she said:
"But they are all rotten."

Of course..

So at least I know she is laying eggs now!
